Specify employees as poolers and assign work rules

Before you begin

Procedure

Go to User Management. Under Employees, select Work Rules.

Select the employee for whom you want to set up pooling rules and assign work rules.

Under Hours, complete the Minimum Paid Hours and Maximum Paid Hours for the employees, in addition to the other hour values.
Pooling employees must have a flexible span of minimum and maximum working hours, such as a minimum of zero hours and a maximum of 40 work hours per week. With these settings, the employee will get up to 40 hours scheduled between the primary and secondary campaigns.
For example, Carol Clark, a pooler, has 40 Maximum Paid Hours. Her primary campaign needs her for 8 hours during a specific week of the scheduling period. If the secondary campaign needs her help, the application can schedule her for an additional 32 hours for that week.

Under Pooling Rules, select Employee Can Pool.

In Minimum Paid Hours in Primary Organization, set the minimum hours in the primary campaign for the employee.
This setting ensures that the pooler works a set number of hours for the primary organization, before they are scheduled at any of the secondary organizations. For example, you want to make sure that the employee works a minimum of 24 hours at their primary organization before being available to pool. In this case, set this value to 24 (hours).

From Secondary Organizations, select the Organization Selector icon and select one or more organizations in which the employee can pool. Select Set.

In Start Date and End Date, specify the effective dates for the setting, Minimum Paid Hours in Primary Organization.

Assign the work patterns to the employees:

Under Work Patterns, select Add.

Select the work patterns you created for poolers and select Add Selected Work Patterns.

Select Save.

Optional. For skill-based scheduling, assign the relevant skills required to work in the primary and secondary campaigns for employees:

Go to User Management. Under Employees, select Skills.

From the left pane, select the employees for whom you want to assign skills.

To add a skill for the employees, under Assigned, select Add.

Select the skills you want to assign to the employees, and select Add Selected Skills.

To enter data about the skill assignment, select the Edit icon next to Start Date / End Date.

Complete the fields on the bottom half of the Skill screen, and select Set.

On the Skills Assignment screen, select Save.
